Log into your router by pointing your web browser to http://192.168.1.1. Next go to the Administration tab and then click on the Management tab.

Then scroll down to IP Filter Settings. It should be near the bottom of the page.

Now, you have some things to think about. Do you use instant messengers? If so, you need to set the TCP and UDP timeouts somewhere between 300-600 seconds, or they won't stay connected properly. Now if you don't use IM, you could probably get away with 90-150 second timeouts. You should also up the Maximum Ports to 4096. I put 120 for the timeouts and it looks like this:

Well hopefully that should take care of your problems with your router seeming to die, when using any P2P software.
